SouLift is a band from Madrid made up of musicians from Spain, Nigeria, Cameroon and the U.S. Their music is a fusion of soul, funk and reggae, with a touch of gospel; frontman Amos Obasohan, is the lead in the gospel choir of Madrid. The rest of the band’s musicians all come from a diverse and eclectic musical background, including: a Made-in-Spain drum and bass combo formed by Josete Blanco and Javi Jimenez, the multifaceted Olusoji Sool Jaiyeola on the keys and the sax, the voice of Mirabelle Kapnan Idehen, who completes the three-part harmonies with her silky and soulful tone, guitarist and singer Erik La Chapelle from California, who adds funk and rock energy to the mix, and lead singer Amos Obasohan, who oscillates from old-school reggae of Jamaica to gospel of America to high life of Nigeria. SouLift is a band that has been unleashed and knows no boundaries when it comes to musical genres; some call them the best kept secret of Madrid.
